Player Exploited the Credits Glitch to Finish the Game in a World Record Time

A Super Nintendo player uploaded a YouTube video explaining how he exploited a glitch in Super Mario World to finish the game in a world record time.

The so-called “Credits Warp” glitch allowed SethBling to finish Super Mario World in 4 minutes and 49 seconds. SethBling, a YouTube user known for his video game speed-runs and knowledge of Minecraft, said he is the first to use the Super Nintendo console to exploit the so-called “Credits Warp” glitch, which had previously been managed by players using an emulated version of the game on their computers.

The player said the glitch involves performing a series of actions that result in the game’s credits rolling without having to defeat Mario’s arch-enemy, Bowser. The first video posted by SethBling shows him using the glitch to complete the game in 5 minutes and 59 seconds, which he said is a record for players using the Super Nintendo console. A second video, posted to video gaming site Twitch, shows him beat his own record by finishing in 4 minutes and 49 seconds.
