April Fools Day

This happened to me when I was in first standard. One day, I came to school and I saw some of my friends sitting glum.

I went and asked one of my friends, what the problem was. She said sadly that our beloved class teacher was resigning from her job here and was going to another school. I was shocked to hear such a thing.

So I thought of giving her something that day itself. I immediately made a greeting card with the heading ‘Miss you, ma’am!’. When she came to the class I went near her and gave her the card.

She looked at me surprisingly and asked somewhat angrily and loudly, “For what reason did you give this card?”

I asked her, “Aren’t you going?” Now she became really angry. Before she could do something more, my friends howled and said that it was April Fools day!

I felt so bad. I said sorry to my teacher and went back to my seat with my head down.
