Letter Penned to Santa Gets Back with a Sticker Marked Insufficient Address

Letter Penned to Santa Gets Back with a Sticker Marked Insufficient Address

The letter was penned to Santa Claus, Santa’s Grotto, Lapland, The North Pole, but a humorless post office were having none of it.

A post office has been forced to apologize after crushing a three-year-old child’s dream of Santa Claus reading her letter. Workers at Ireland’s An Post sent the letter back to the child with a sticker marked ‘Insufficient Address’. This left Dublin-based Alan Campbell’s child devastated, and he took to Twitter to complain. An Post responded, saying that they are launching an investigation into the festive error.

The dad told the Irish Examiner: “Luckily for us we had visited Santa in Dundrum a few days before we posted the letter so he knew what they wanted, and that’s how Santa came. “In that sense it’s all’s well that ends well.” A spokesman for An Post said: “It simply should not have happened. “It is as simple as that. No excuses. “Since learning and discussing the issue in more detail with the child’s father, an investigation is under way.” The company offered to write a ‘very special’ letter to Mr Campbell’s daughter to say sorry, but the offer was declined.
