The UK-based Indian-origin rock and metal guitarist, singer, and songwriter is currently training for the exam, the highest grade in the graded music system. If he passes it at nine, he will become the youngest person ever to achieve the milestone on the electric guitar, an achievement that will earn him an official Guinness World Record.
Alexander Hargraves from Colne, England, currently holds the title, having set the record at the age of 11 years, 7 months earlier this year.
Adrian’s technical ability has earned him official global artist sponsorships from two of rock’s best-known names: Marshall Amplifiers, the British company whose amps have powered decades of stadium rock, and Solar Guitars, the brand favoured by heavy metal players.
Adrian said, “I just love playing the guitar and expressing myself through rock and metal music. I find preparing for my Grade 8 exam involves a lot of hard work, but the thought of setting a Guinness World Record keeps me practicing every day!”
“I also really love exploring my roots by covering great Indian tracks like the music from Rockstar—it’s so cool to see people from all over the world enjoying how I mix Western rock with Bollywood elements. And I want to show other kids that if you love something and practice hard, you can achieve big things no matter how old you are,” he added.
Adrian extends his musical range from Western metal to Indian rock tracks. His viral rendition of music from the Bollywood film Rockstar has gained especially popular acclaim, showing how comfortably he moves between heavy riffs and Indian pop culture.
Many people widely regard Grade 8 as a demanding benchmark. It typically requires advanced command of technique, musical interpretation, sight-reading, and aural skills, qualities that usually associate with players who have spent many more years on their instrument.
