Eighth-grade Basketball Game League Tournament Mishap
An eighth-grade basketball game in Kansas had a heartbreaking end for one team when the ball came to a rest on the rim in the closing seconds.
The Rock Creek Mustangs were foiled in their attempt to place in the Kansas Mid-East League.
The Kansas Mid-East League 8th Grade Basketball League tournament 3rd place game, which was filmed by Cindy Kulp, was down to its final seconds when a player for the Rock Creek Mustangs, which were down by a single point, took a shot.
The ball circled the rim and looked like it was about to go through the hoop, but instead came to rest where the rim meets the backboard and stayed in place until the clock ran out. The mishap meant a 26-25 victory for the Riley County Falcons.
