Johnny Jump Up

.The children squat down quietly.

.The teacher or another child begins talking and saying things about the children in the room; such as, Susie is wearing a red dress today.

.Tommy got a new hair cut.

.If the leader suddenly says JUMP or uses the word JUMP in a sentence, all the children must jump up.

.Varying the technique for using the word jump would necessitate more careful listening.

.This activity is not only fun for the gross motor movement of jumping, but it is also an excellent exercise for increasing listening skills and verbal expression.
