Messy Project Shirts

Messy_Project_Shirts*Ask all the children to bring an old shirt from home which will stay at school to be used as the “messy project shirt.”

(A t-shirt works the best for young children since there are no buttons to be fastened.)

Make the shirts more interesting by allowing the children to decorate them. Here is a fun fabric paint recipe:

*Add 1 cup of powdered albumen to three cups of liquid tempera paint.

*Add a few drops of vinegar.

*After the paint has dried on the fabric, set the colors by placing the fabric between two pieces of paper and steam with an iron.
