Pictures and Objects

.Ask a child to choose an object and tell all that he can about the object.

.How is it used? How large is the object? What color is the object? Where would you find the object?

.Then ask him or her to choose another object and tell in which they are alike.

.Then ask him or her how they are different.

.It will probably be necessary for you to give examples so the children will understand.

.Try to develop the concepts of size, color, shape, use, and location.

.(e.g. red car and a red pencil – they are alike because they are both red; they are different because one is small and one is large; one is used to ride in and one is used to write with.)
