Clever Student

This incident happened to me when I was 7 years old. The result of our final exams was declared and progress cards were given.

I raced home very happily. My mother saw me panting and she asked me what the matter was. In a happy mood I said , “Mommy, I got two first ranks”!

My mother was surprised and she had a look at my progress card. She burst out laughing. The reason was, I had secured 11th rank but not two 1st ranks!

Till now I cannot forget such an incident. Now and then my mother calls me “my clever boy!”
