Shameful Incident

This incident occurred when I was studying in fourth class. One day my cousin came to meet me during the school hours.

It was our history period and since our teacher had not yet come, I went out to talk to my cousin. We had a conversation for about 20 minutes and then he took leave of me.

By the time I returned to the class, our history teacher had arrived and was writing something on the blackboard. I tiptoed into the class and quickly sat on my seat. After she had finished writing on the blackboard she came up to me and said, “Who was he?”

I stood up and in a trembling voice replied “Madam he was my cousin.” She again repeated her question and I again repeated the same answer.

Then she glared at me and said, “you idiot! I am asking you, who was Hitler?” The whole class burst into loud laughter and I hung my head in shame.
