Cats and Mice

.The children choose to be either cats or mice.

.When the teacher plays music in high tones the mice scamper about, but as soon as low tones are heard the mice stop scampering and the cats stealthily creep around.

.At intervals the teacher might surprise them by playing in both high and low tones and all the cats and all the mice become active.

.Children would enjoy variations of the animals (and of music) for this game.

.Drums, bells, etc., might be used in indicate high, low, light, or heavy tones.
